Privacy Policy for MusicBud
Xerosoft Studio ("we", "our", or "us") operates MusicBud (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how MusicBud currently stores, processes, and transmits information.
1. Summary
MusicBud primarily works with audio files and project settings stored on your device. The current version of MusicBud can also send detailed technical error reports to Xerosoft Studio servers when the app encounters failures, crashes, rendering problems, or other bugs.
2. Information Stored on Your Device
MusicBud may store information locally on your device so that your projects and editing state can be restored, including:
- Project names, preset selections, effect values, trim settings, and mixer settings
- Imported audio file references and app-created copies of audio used in saved projects
- Audio recordings you make inside the app
- Onboarding flags, custom mixer presets, and other app preferences
- A local installation identifier used to distinguish one app installation from another for diagnostics and deletion requests
This data is stored using platform-provided storage mechanisms and app-specific files on your device.
3. Permissions and Device Access
Depending on the platform and features you use, MusicBud may request access to:
- Your microphone, so you can record audio inside the app
- Files or media you choose to import for editing or mixing
- Local storage needed to save projects, renders, and temporary working files
MusicBud does not access your microphone or files unless required for the feature you use.
4. Information Sent to Our Servers
MusicBud does not connect directly to the database from the app. When technical diagnostics are submitted, the app sends them to Xerosoft Studio web endpoints hosted at https://xerosoftstudio.com/musicbud/, and those endpoints write the data to our database.
Technical reports may include:
- Error messages, exception text, stack traces, FFmpeg logs, and render failure details
- App version, build mode, route or screen name, session identifier, and app uptime
- Device install identifier, platform, locale, timezone, IP address, and user-agent data received by the web endpoint
- Project diagnostics such as effect values, mixer track state, trim settings, selected presets, file paths, and export parameters at the time of failure
- Breadcrumbs showing the actions leading up to the problem, such as opening the mixer, starting a render, or exporting audio
These diagnostics are collected so we can reproduce issues and fix them remotely with minimal or no follow-up from affected users.
5. How We Use Information
We use information described in this policy to:
- Operate MusicBud features that save projects and process audio on-device
- Diagnose crashes, export failures, preview-render failures, and other technical bugs
- Understand which part of the app failed and what state the app was in at the time
- Respond to support, privacy, or data-deletion requests
- Maintain and secure the related web endpoints and database infrastructure
6. What We Do Not Intentionally Collect
MusicBud is not designed to collect payment card data, government-issued identifiers, contacts, messages, or precise location through the app. We also do not sell your personal information.
7. Sharing and Third Parties
We do not sell or rent your personal information. Information is processed by Xerosoft Studio systems as needed to host the privacy page, deletion page, API endpoints, and database-backed technical diagnostics.
If you download MusicBud through a store or platform provider such as Google Play or the Apple App Store, that provider may separately process data under its own terms and privacy policy.
8. Data Retention and Deletion
Local project data remains on your device until you delete projects, remove app data, or uninstall the app. Server-side diagnostic records may remain until they are no longer needed for debugging, operational, security, or legal purposes.
You can request deletion of server-side data associated with your MusicBud usage through the delete-data page. For diagnostic-only usage, the most useful identifier is the app install ID used in error reports. If you do not have that identifier, you can also contact us directly.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information under our control. No storage or transmission method is completely secure, and local files on your device are also subject to your device's own security protections and limitations.
10. Children's Privacy
MusicBud is not directed to children under 13 unless a specific store listing or product description states otherwise. If you believe personal information from a child has been provided in a way that violates applicable law, contact us and we will review the request.
11. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your location, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, or restriction of processing. You may also clear app data directly from your device or uninstall the app. Server-side deletion requests can be submitted through the MusicBud delete-data page or by contacting us.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to MusicBud, our diagnostics systems, or legal requirements. Updated versions will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
